入口 Entrance

通向一所小学的大门应该不仅仅是一个开口,在上学时把学生从这个开“吞人”,而放学时把学生从这个开口“吐出”。它应该是欢迎提早到达学校,或放学后不打算直接回家的小学生在这里停留的地方。孩子们也有他们自己的约会和聚会,你至少可以提供低矮的短墙供孩子们小坐。如果能提供一个遮荫的角落就更好了,在雨天最好能有一个有顶棚的空间。

Some preliminary attention to the asymmetry of thresholds is imperative. The threshold, offering the possibility of crossing a limit, is linked to movement. These passages are directional in the sense that they originate in one space and lead to a different space. One might think that the direction would simply be reversed in the case of an exit. The church porch would become the threshold of the sacred towards the secular town. However, the two directions are not equivalent. All the decoration of the porch and the doorway is directed towards the exterior and the church remains the destination space which one leaves without the street necessarily becoming a new destination space. It is therefore often the ‘entrance’ which one designs rather than the exit.
